MY JOURNEY

People often think it's about keeping wood burning. It isn't. To me, fire has always represented something much bigger. It's about never allowing relationships to grow cold. It's about making time to gather. It's about telling stories, sharing meals and creating memories that last long after the embers fade.

Whether it's around my own table, with lifelong friends, with my family, or alongside complete strangers who leave as friends, the principle is always the same.

Having been in the travel industry for almost 3 decades, my life has been shaped by travel. I've explored some of the continent's most remarkable places, guided guests through the African bush, led photographic expeditions in partnership with Nikon South Africa, and spent years leading groups on journeys across Africa. Whether through adventure, photography or shared purpose, those experiences were always about bringing people together.

Looking back, every chapter prepared me for the next. It taught me that extraordinary experiences are rarely defined by a destination. They're defined by the people you share them with.

Throughout that journey, one thing remained constant. The fire. Whether in a remote bush camp, around an evening gathering, on a photographic expedition or today at one of my open-fire dining experiences, fire has always been where people slow down, share stories and build relationships.

That is where my philosophy was born. Never Let The Fire Die.

The braai has always been about more than food. It's where families reconnect, friendships are strengthened and strangers become part of the conversation.

My goal is to elevate that tradition—to celebrate it with exceptional ingredients, thoughtful hospitality and unforgettable experiences that honour where we come from.
